Through the darkness, I’m reaching for a light
JiP, now 31 years old, is making a name for himself with his second single. Following “Tonight” in 2024—a catchy R&B song—he’s taking a completely different direction in 2026. With “The Final Ink,” JiP tackles a very profound topic. Depression and mental illness have played a role in his life since childhood. Surrounded by people who were affected themselves, it took him a long time to realize that he, too, was affected.
Through music, JiP tries to come to terms with his own problems and experiences and find a way out of mental health crises. And even though the outcome of this song is both bleak and sad, it plays on the emotions that people carry with them during such depressive phases. Nevertheless, the message is always that it’s worth continuing to live and to fight. It’s not easy to find a way out, and it’s not easy to tackle all these problems, but it is possible. With patience and by working on yourself
